2 arrested on drug charges

Two Mid-Missouri men, one from Holts Summit and the other from California, were arrested Wednesday on drug charges, Lt. Clay Chism of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies and members of the Mustang drug task force executed a narcotics-related search warrant about 7 p.m. Wednesday as the result of a combined investigation, Chism said. The warrant was executed on a house in the 11400 block of County Road 391 near Holts Summit.

James Niederhelm, 39, of Holts Summit, and Zacharey Martin, 25, of California, were arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail, Chism said.

Niederhelm was booked on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He posted a $5,000 bond and was released pending court appearance.

Martin was booked on charges of possession of meth. He posted a $4,500 bond and was released pending court appearance.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are possible, Chism said.
