The cleaning of mold and dirt from the top of the dome, shown above, is the final part of repair and renovation work done on the Moniteau County Courthouse last week.

The work included cleaning and repair of the gutters, and repair of the lower part of the dome for increased structural integrity. Some of the wood was replaced where needed, and covered with metal, which was then painted. The contract for the work was signed April 21, after the bid of $13,105 was accepted.

According to Presiding County Commissioner Ken Kunze, there are several items of repair and renovation planned for the courthouse as funds are available. Next on the list is repair of the steps at the north entrance of the courthouse. Bids for this project have been advertised, but none received yet.
