911 Emergency Center board of directors sworn in

The newly elected members of the 911 Emergency Dispatch Center Board of Directors were sworn in at the regular monthly meeting held on Nov. 10.
With notary Shelly J. Hampton witnessing, the following were sworn in. For District 1: Sarah Jones four-year term; Andrew Geiser two-year term. Board member-elect Shawn Inglish will be sworn in at a later date for a four-year term. For District 2: Chris Allee four-year term; Sue Pratt four-year term; Mike Volkart two-year term. Member at large Scott Harkins was sworn in for a two-year term.
The Board discussed officer positions needing to be filled and then voted unanimously for Mike Volkart Vice President, and Shawn Inglish Treasurer.
Several other items of business were taken up. A discussion was held of hiring a board secretary, separate from the director. The decision was approved unanimously to create the position. Initial pay was set at $75 per meeting. Qualified interested persons will be spoken to about the position.
The board approved $1,000 to be spent on employee uniforms.
After comparison and discussion, the board voted to change the current employee health insurance from United Health Care to Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield. While the current plan with UHC is $192.75 lower than Anthem, the leading factors in the decision were lower co-pays per visit and lower prescription costs. The cost per month for eight employees is $3,979.02. This cost is paid by Moniteau County Emergency Dispatch as a benefit for all full-time employees.
According to the treasurer's report, sales tax received was $48,086.14. The MMDA account balance on Nov. 9 was $750,316.64. The CD's balance, on Oct. 31, was $235,631.39. Payroll totals were: Oct. 20, $10,729.52; Nov. 3, $10,221.51. Overall payroll taxes were $7,521.86. Total accounts payable approved at the meeting was $19,518.14.
The next Meeting is set for Dec. 7 at 6 p.m.
