Bakers celebrate 65th wedding anniversary

Charlotte and Roy Baker celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Thursday, Aug. 25, with several family members and the staff of California Care Center.
The Bakers have been California residents for about 20 years. They were married in 1951, where they lived in Chamois. Roy was 21 and Charlotte was 17 and had just graduated from high school. He went to work for Missouri Pacific leading them to move around for several years until he was assigned a permanent railroad position in Kansas City. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 1989.
Charlotte was the middle of three sisters. She also has a brother. All are still living. Roy was the only son. He had a half-sister.
The couple have four sons, Tim, Keith, Baryl and Thomas. Son Tim and daughter-in-law Carol were present for the special day
