Four arrested in string of lake area thefts

Four people were arrested Thursday in connection with multiple thefts in Morgan County.

According to the sheriff's department, the Jiffy Stop gas station in Laurie reported at 9:33 a.m. Thursday the theft of two cartons of Marlboro cigarettes by the occupants of a yellow Dodge truck with a black stripe on the back.

About 9.40 a.m., the Lake Oasis gas station in Laurie reported a theft of approximately $50 in gas by the occupants of a yellow Dodge truck.

Then at 10:35 a.m., a resident in the 1500 block of Route O reported the theft of a personal watercraft and trailer by the occupants of a yellow Dodge truck.

About about 10 minutes later, the personal watercraft and trailer was located on Missouri 135 in Morgan County. At 11 a.m., the yellow Dodge truck was located on Deer Ridge Road off 135. The occupants of the truck were taken into custody.

Deputies charged:

Chance Lueker, 32, of Cleveland, Missouri, with stealing a watercraft, possession of a controlled substance and stealing less than $150. His bond was set at $175,000.

Clint Walker, 36, of Cleveland, with possession of a controlled substance and stealing a watercraft. His bond was set at $35,000.

Amanda Riley, 39, of Raytown, with the possession of a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $15,000.

Christina Matthews, 39, of Cleveland, with possession of a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $10,000.
