Brooke Ziehmer, in a wheelchair, is present at the fundraiser held on her behalf on Aug.

The community rallied together Aug. 5 for a fundraiser to support Brooke Ziehmer in her recovery from the results of a vehicle accident.

The fundraising event was held at Bonecutter's Body Shop and Beta Motorcycles on Business 50 West. Those providing items sold were Big Dog BBQ, Jackie Heather and Nic Nac Cafe, California Construction, Cal's Thriftway, Mr Gs and others, who donated baked goods.

After being seriously injured in a vehicle accident July 7, it was necessary for Ziehmer to be transported by Life Flight to University Hospital in Columbia. Injuries included a collapsed lung, several breaks in her pelvic region, broken ribs and a small brain bleed.

Although Ziehmer has a long road ahead of her before she will be back up to speed, her recovery is on track to the point that she was able to attend the fundraiser in a wheelchair.

Funds from the benefit are helping with continuing medical treatment for her.

Jessica Farmer, who helped put on the fundraiser said, "we are blessed by the love and generosity shown to the Ziehmer family today."
