On Tuesday, July 4, the city of California joined the people of the rest of the United States in celebration of Independence Day.
The local celebration began with a parade through the town at 10 a.m. and finished with a fireworks display at dusk.
California Masonic Lodge 183 sponsored the parade, which was themed "Proud of America." Many organizations, churches, schools, businesses and more showed their patriotism with floats, marching or other entries.
The city of California sponsored the fireworks display at Proctor Park which began after dark.
