Dr. Jeremy Anderson is the new pastor of First Baptist Church in California.

The congregation of First Baptist Church in California welcomed its new senior pastor, Dr. Jeremy Anderson, and his wife, Allison, with a church-wide carry-in dinner following the morning worship service on Sunday, July 16.

The Rev. Anderson and Allison have two daughters, Lillie, 2, and Ella, 1. The Andersons moved to California from Memphis, Tennessee. Before being called to First Baptist, Jeremy spent 16 years serving on staff at two Memphis area churches. He also worked for Chick-fil-A from 1991 until the end of this June. The last 20 years at Chick-fil-A, he served as general manager of a location in Memphis.

The new pastor completed his doctor of ministry degree in expository preaching from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, last fall; Union is also where he received his bachelor of science degree in organizational leadership in 2007. He went to seminary at Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia, where he received three master's degrees.

Allison Anderson is a registered nurse and has bachelor of science degrees in nursing and elementary education. She currently is a homemaker, devoting her time and skills to raising their two girls. She grew up in Mexico as the daughter of missionaries. She is fluent in Spanish.

The Andersons are excited to begin their ministry at First Baptist and look forward to becoming a part of the California community.
