Two arrested on drug charges

HOLTS SUMMIT, Mo. - Two Holts Summit men were arrested on drug and other charges during a traffic stop Thursday evening, according to Callaway County Sheriff's Lt. Curtis Hall.

Those arrested were:

  • Allen R. Burnett, 26, charged with second-degree felony drug trafficking, driving while revoked, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and no vehicle insurance.
  • Kurt Catron, 31, charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm.

At 6:24 p.m., deputies stopped a silver SUV in the area of Route AA and Doolittle Drive near Holts Summit for a traffic offense. The driver was identified as Burnett and the passenger was identified as Catron.

During a search of Catron, he was found to be in possession of a firearm, marijuana and methamphetamine.

During a search of the vehicle, a large amount of suspected methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia was recovered.

Burnett and Catron were transported to the Callaway County Jail. Burnett posted a $7,300 bond and was released pending court appearance. Catron is currently in custody pending with a $9,500 bond.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming.
