Seven arrested in Moniteau County

The Moniteau County Sheriff's Department made several arrests.

Deputies made a traffic stop Wednesday on U.S. 50 just outside California. Deputies searched the vehicle and found methamphetamine in the trunk. The driver, Regina Shaw, 49, of Tipton, was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance.

Deputies conducted another vehicle stop Thursday on U.S. 50 just outside California. They searched the vehicle and located methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia. The driver, Eric Miller, 35, of Springfield, attempted to ingest a "substantial amount" of methamphetamines, but deputies recovered the meth. Miller was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance. His passenger, Derek Santana, 47, of Tipton also was taken into custody for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Also Thursday, Moniteau County deputies and the Tipton Police Department conducted a traffic stop in Tipton. They found Kyle Wagoner, 28, of Clarksburg, was a passenger in the vehicle. Deputies had been looking for Wagoner on several outstanding warrants for his arrest from Miller County, and he was taken into custody.

Also Thursday, deputies went to a residence in California to conduct a follow-up investigation. They made contact with three people in a vehicle at the residence. A search of the vehicle found methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Those taken into custody included Nashyla Patton, 21, of Jefferson City, wanted on Jefferson City Police Department warrants for failure to appear for drug paraphernalia, failure to appear for stealing and a Moniteau County charge for possession of a controlled substance. Also taken into custody were Seira Becerra, 21, of California, for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and Bruce McGhee, of California, for possession of marijuana.
