Two missing Jefferson City teens found safe

Two Jefferson City teenagers reported missing since November 13 have been found safe according to authorities.

Zachary Johnson, 15, and Lilly Gore, 17, were reported missing by family members. Both are students at Jefferson City High School.

Officials with the Jefferson City Police Department said they could confirm that the two teens had been taken off missing lists, but how the two were found or where they were found they could not say. They did say that this remained an open investigation.

The news that the two youths had been found broke early Sunday morning via a post on the social media site, Facebook, from Zachary's mother, Stephanie Johnson. The post shows the flyers that had been posted in the missing children data base with the faces of Zachary and Lilly. On each flyer were written the words "Home Safe."

Johnson's Facebook post thanked the community for their support. It did not indicate when or how the two teens were found.

Authorities had put out an alert for the two saying they were concerned the teens might be in some sort of danger, but could not give any details on why the two went missing when they did.
