New 911 phone system up and running for Moniteau County

The new phone installation at the 911 Emergency Dispatch Center has been completed and is in use, according to a report given by Director David Bledsoe at the regular meeting Sept. 20.

He said that a few settings are being tweaked, but, for the most part, the system installation is finished. This is enhanced 911, with the ability to provide cell phone locations. He also reported that radio and pager testing has been completed on the new Tipton Fire frequency. Tipton and Fortuna Fire are now on the new frequency.

The board took up several matters at the meeting. Among those was the board decision to approve $500 to have vinyl signs put on the truck, owned and used by the 911 center. Another was to maintain the winter snow removal contract with Bueker's Lawn and Garden.

When reviewing the current bills, the board again took up the discussion on what constituted normal bills, that do not need to be brought before the board. The subject was first discussed in June. The board decided that the director should only bring those charge accounts (credit card and store accounts) and anything not paid on a monthly basis. The board unanimously approved all outstanding bills for payment and payroll.

The third Quarter County Road Survey is complete. The center will replace 12 road signs.

According to addressor Corey Sullivan, the GeoCom mapping and GIS information for 765 points have been completed. That leaves just more than 200 to do. The geocoding currently is being managed by GeoCom. The board will need to decide if it will go to a desktop version, to be managed by the center itself or continue with the online version with GeoCom continuing to manage it. If the desktop management is the decision, GeoCom will provide training to assist the center in becoming self-sufficient at maintaining its own mapping system.

The treasurer's report indicated sales tax received was $81,892.67. MMDA account balance effective Aug. 31 was $697,902.73. The CD's balance, as of July 31, was $235,181.35. Payroll was approved by the board: Sept. 7 - $15,204.51 and Sept. 21 - $16,423.71. Overall payroll taxes for both pay periods totaled $9,109.70. Total accounts payable approved at the meeting was $72,010.45.

The next regular monthly meeting is set for Oct. 18.
