Sunday crashes in Maries, Miller counties yield several injuries

A Dixon man was hurt in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Maries County.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports show the crash occurred at 4:41 p.m. on Missouri 133, 2 miles north of Brinktown.

John Maynard, 19, of St. James, crossed the center line and struck Christopher Roach, 47, of Dixon, resulting in both vehicles going off the road. Roach's vehicle overturned before coming to rest.

Maynard had no reported injuries, while Roach was treated for serious injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Maynard was arrested for DWI, driving while suspended, careless and imprudent driving, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Two Eldon residents were hurt in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Miller County.

Patrol reports show the crash occurred at 3:10 p.m. on Missouri 87 at Lyons Road.

An ATV driven by Danny Love, 43, of Eldon, was stopped on southbound Missouri 87 waiting to make a left turn when Steven Damico, 29, of Overland Park, Kansas, attempted to pass Love in the northbound lane as Love initiated his turn. Damico's vehicle struck the side of the ATV, ejecting Love and his passenger, Chevy Love, 11, of Eldon.

The Loves were treated for minor injuries, while Damico had no reported injuries.
