Jefferson City police officers are investigating an apparent robbery Thursday at Kay Jewelers in Capital Mall.
Reports show officers were called around 1:17 p.m., authorities said.
A female store clerk was showing a piece of jewelry to a male customer, who threw something into the clerk's eyes. He then fled the area with the jewelry.
As of Thursday afternoon, officers were looking at security video from a number of stores in the mall and developing leads for the suspect.
