A Jefferson City man is in custody on charges related to a murder that occurred last year.

Traivon D. Jefferson, 22, was arrested Thursday night on a separate charge of second-degree domestic assault, a class D felony.

Also Thursday, an individual came forward to investigators to share that they had information regarding Jefferson's alleged involvement in the murder of Terrance Davis last Halloween.

In the early morning hours of Oct. 31 last year, Davis, 29, was shot and killed in the 700 block of Michigan Street.

Another Jefferson City man, Terrance Wynn, later was charged with one count of second-degree murder, one count of first-degree armed robbery, one count of first-degree assault and three counts of armed criminal action.

When questioned, Wynn eventually admitted to shooting Davis, but surveillance camera footage from the scene showed a second individual involved, according to Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statements.

Jefferson was interviewed Friday about his involvement in the murder, after the individual who came forward to authorities said Jefferson had spoken about his involvement with the murder to other individuals, too, police reported.

Further interviews with witnesses corroborated that information.

Jefferson admitted to being with the other defendant during the interaction with Davis, according to the statements. Jefferson denied involvement in the robbery and stated the co-defendant was the only person to shoot Davis.

Jefferson is being held on $25,000 bail on the domestic assault charge, cash only and with 10 percent receipt not authorized.

He is being held without bond on the charges of second-degree murder, a class A felony; first-degree attempted robbery, a class B felony; and armed criminal action, another felony charge.
