A commercial structure fire Tuesday night in Fulton caused an estimated $100,000 in damage.

Fulton Fire Department reports show the fire was at 109/111 W. Sixth St., which includes The Hair Hut as well as New Beginning Church of Christ and Food Pantry.

The fire was reported just before 7 p.m. in the basement, and fire was showing from there when crews arrived on the scene.

When firefighters entered the structure, they were met with intense heat and heavy smoke. The basement had only one set of stairs going in and out with no windows.

It took an extended amount of time to put out the fire due to the location of the blaze.

Everyone got out of the structure by the time firefighters arrived.

The State Fire Marshall's Office and the Fulton Fire Department are investigating the cause of the fire, but fire officials said there appeared to be nothing suspicious about the blaze.
