Frequent offender charged with assault, burglary

A Jefferson City man was charged Friday in relation to a burglary case in the Capital City.

Deontralius Parrow, 26, is charged with first-degree burglary and third-degree assault.

The incident occurred just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of West Dunklin Street, according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement.

Three witnesses told officers Parrow unlawfully entered a home by forcefully climbing through a rear bedroom window of an occupied apartment.

Once inside, Parrow found a woman he had been romantically involved with and removed her from the apartment against her will. Prior to this, Parrow allegedly assaulted the tenant of the apartment as he tried to keep him out. Parrow also made a threat to kill the woman before she was safely returned, according to the statement.

When questioned by officers, Parrow admitted to unlawfully entering the apartment but denied forcibly removing the woman. The woman declined to cooperate with authorities.

Court records show Parrow is homeless and frequently fails to appear for court appearances. Since 2016, he has been arrested 31 times by Jefferson City police for various crimes such as domestic assault, resisting arrest, trespassing and narcotics violations.
