A Maries County Sheriff's Department deputy has been arrested for allegedly having sex with an inmate.
Maries County Sheriff Chris Heitman said in a post on the department's Facebook page that Kacee Woodruff, who had worked in the department as a jailer/dispatcher, was arrested and later released. She is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
Woodruff immediately was terminated from her position with the sheriff's office, where she had worked since the end of February.
Heitman said he has been a supervisor for more than 15 years and this is the first time he had to arrest one of his employees.
