Boonville man arrested on 3 charges

A Boonville man has been charged after a chase with Moniteau County authorities last month.

Adam Jones, 26, is charged with delivery of marijuana, driving while suspended and resisting arrest.

On July 22, deputies tried to stop Jones, who was traveling at a high speed on U.S. 50, according to Moniteau County Sheriff's Department reports. The vehicle Jones was driving was reported stolen out of Boonville.

He led deputies on a pursuit where he crossed the median of U.S. 50 several times. Due to the high speeds and conditions at the time, deputies ended the chase and Jones sped away.

A short time later, deputies received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at Cedar Ridge Road and Route PP. The vehicle was found abandoned with marijuana inside.

Deputies contacted Boonville police to notify them of the recovery of the stolen vehicle and that Jones had been the driver. Boonville police asked that Moniteau County deputies locate Jones, which they eventually did, and he was taken back to Moniteau County to face charges there.
