The California Community Ensemble is led by interm director Jacob Hampton at the Christmas sing-a-long Nov. 29 at California Care Center.

Music for the holiday season can warm the heart and create peace of mind.

The California Community Ensemble will share the Christmas spirit with a free concert at the Moniteau Care Center.

"They (the residents) really love the music, especially in December, because we get so many carolers," activity director Gina Baker said.

She said, although this season can be depressing for some, residents can be found singing along during performances.

The free concert is open to the public Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m.

The group performed Nov. 29 at the California Care Center. The holiday sing-a-long style performance included classic tunes like "Deck the Halls," "O Christmas Tree" and "We wish you a Merry Christmas."

"Hopefully all the residents enjoy the music," Interim Director Jacob Hampton said.

The Moniteau Care Center performance will be the group's last show of the season.

The musicians in the community ensemble are seeking a new, permanent director to fill the position by spring.
