Hill is city clerk in-training

Aimee Hill, who has been the city of California utilities billing clerk for several years, is the city clerk in-training for the city. Effective, April 1, she will be the California city clerk.

Hill said she is a native of Moniteau County. It might have been confusing for her in the early years, since "we had a California address, a Jamestown phone number and attended Prairie Home School."

She has an associate's degree in general studies from Ozark Technical Community College in Springfield. She is married to Kevin Hill and they have three children, Bryce, 7, and Cale and Dane, both 5.

"I have three and a half years of experience working with our city employees and citizens as city utility clerk," Hill said. With her background, she has knowledge of the operations of the city, the office procedures and the computer system.

"I appreciate this opportunity to demonstrate my abilities and apply what I have learned to my new position," she said. "I really enjoy working for the city, so I am excited to take this next step on April 1."

Hill said she is "eager and motivated to learn all the new job duties that come along" with the position of city clerk.

"Brian (Scrivner) has done a great job as city clerk, so I know I have some big shoes to fill," Hill said. "I am committed to working hard to keep the city running smoothly and look forward to working with our mayor, city council, city employees and citizens."
