With the recent cold and snow, there should be no complaints from anyone about not having any winter weather.
Dec. 21, the first day of winter, was mild. Only a few days later, Christmas Eve, though, it had turned cold and California saw a White Christmas, the first since 2010. And the snow stayed awhile because it got colder, dropping to 2 or 3 degrees Fahrenheit, only a couple of days later, with a high of about 16 degrees for the day. The temperatures did not rise to freezing for several days
Now, more snow has arrived. Although not much is expected beyond a couple of inches, the predicted temperatures are supposed to be really low, with the high temperatures in the teens for a few days. As a result, what snow falls may well be around for a while.
Add that to predicted wind chill temperatures of 20 below zero, and Moniteau County certainly has winter this year.
