California High School senior Caleb Bleich, who has a Jamestown address, received a Missouri Cattlemen Foundation Scholarship, presented at the 50th annual convention banquet of the organization, held in Columbia.
Bleich said more than 100 applied for the scholarships, with $1,000 scholarships awarded to 27 high school and college students. He said the students were required to meet certain GPA requirements and be involved in agriculture related activities.
According to the association, the final scholarship recipients were chosen based on excellent communication, leadership and scholastic achievement, as well as involvement in their communities and the agricultural industry.
Other scholarships awarded to area students include Rayne Faulconer, Warsaw; Hattie Grisham, Eldon; and Jack Long, Cole Camp.
