Two Cole County residents have been charged in connection with a burglary in McGirk.

Stevie Kelly, 31, of Centertown, is charged with second-degree burglary.

Moniteau County Sheriff's Department deputies were contacted Monday about a home burglary near McGirk. Some "items of interest" were located, which led authorities to believe the suspects were from Cole County.

Cole County Sheriff's Office and Jefferson City Police Department personnel on Tuesday located and stopped a vehicle with the two suspects, one of whom fled on foot but was caught after a short chase. Authorities searched the vehicle and found items that had been stolen from the home in McGirk.

After interviewing the suspects, authorities recovered more items that had been stored at a location near Eugene.

Moniteau County deputies were contacted and took Killion and Kelley into custody.
