Donations have come in to support the local Eagles Club Aerie No. 4027, following the loss of its meeting place to fire June 24-25.

A $10,000 gift was sent by a fellow Eagles Club Aerie No. 3903 in Jeffersontown, Kentucky.

And, locally, Quality Used Cars LLC donated $1,000. Mark Ash is a charter member of the local Eagles and his wife, Debbie, is a member, too.

"(The club does) all they can to help the community and when people are in a bind financially," Ash said. "Not a lot of people do that anymore.

"That's why I'm part of it and that's why we wanted to help out."

The club's leadership have been meeting weekly to stay up-to-date on developments.

For now, they are waiting on the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and insurance companies to dispose of the remnants.

Committees have been formed to find a temporary meeting space and to address a new, permanent site.
