Interim emergency dispatch director meets with police, sheriff

The March monthly meeting of the Moniteau County Emergency Dispatch Board was convened March 8 at 6:03 p.m. Two board members were unable to attend.

Interim Director, Rick Bias, reported to the board that he that he had attended the Jamestown Fire Banquet. He also reported he had met with Tipton and California Police chiefs, as well as the Sheriff on radio issues.

Also reported was that Bias has has hired a new dispatcher, Lilly Waller.

Bias advised the board that he was invited to be the guest speaker at the American Legion Government Day. He spoke to Tipton, California and Jamestown high school students.

In other business:

  • The treasurer's report indicated sales tax received was $83,429.01. As of Feb. 28, the MMDA account balance was $506,132.26. The CD's balance was $235,745.27.
  • Total bills of $20,989.81 were approved.
  • Payroll was approved by the board: Feb. 17 - $14,261.59, and March 3 - $14,648.81. The total payroll taxes for the two pay periods was not provided.

The board went into closed session to discuss employee matters and returned to open session after 36 minutes.

With no additional business, the board adjourned at 8:06 pm.

The next meeting is set for 6 p.m. April 11.
