The Moniteau County Soil and Water Conservation District held its 42nd annual meeting and open house March 15 for people to visit with the staff and its Partners in Agriculture - FSA, NRCS, and MDC - at the district office, 410 W. Buchanan St., California.

Moniteau County has a lot to be proud of and this is just a way for the district to recognize all the hard work done by the landowners and schools.

Lunch was served and the 2017 Cooperators of the Year Awards were presented to Larry, Carleen and Grant Petree and Carmen Nolting.

Ric Heckman, who retired in January, was recognized by the board of supervisors for his 34 years of service with the district.

The district is supported by the one-tenth-of-one percent parks, soils and water sales tax. All Moniteau County landowners with an FSA Farm number are eligible to participate.
