The new location of VP Plumbing LLC is more than just a new location. The company is now at 302 E. Buchanan St., with much more space than the previous facility.
There is inside parking for the company trailer and pickup and an inventory storage area. With the room available, owner Dustin Volkart plans to eventually have a showroom to display some products, such as water heaters, toilets and sinks.
It is planned to eventually have a staff member on-site during opening hours, as the expansion continues.
Preparing the former Ray's MFA premises for the new occupant has taken some time. The auto maintenance equipment was removed, and the remodeling included a new water heater and updating the air conditioning system.
According to Dustin, the new location provides enough room on the lot for possible add-on as the space may be needed for expansion.
VP Plumbing LLC was opened in 1998 by Duane Volkart. His son, Dustin, began working in the business in 1999 and took over two years ago. Duane works about two days a week. Dustin is assisted by Mason Drury in all types of plumbing, including new construction, remodeling, commercial work and repairs.
He spoke about doing the plumbing at Putnam Chevrolet and recently did the plumbing of the expanded new facility at Sydenstrickers south of Tipton.
