Ducks Unlimited event expects good turnout

The Moniteau County Ducks Unlimited will hold its annual banquet and auction Nov. 7. It is the 34th banquet for Ducks Unlimited. It will be at Knights of Columbus Hall, Tipton. The dinner starts at 7 p.m. and the auction will begin at 8 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Ducks Unlimited is a national, non-for-profit organization that raises funds to support habitats for ducks and other birds and animals.

Larry Lehman from Moniteau County Ducks Unlimited said the banquets have been successful.

"We always try to make them grow and become more successful," Lehman said "The past few years, we have had pretty good, stable numbers, attendance-wise."

He said this year's banquet will be pretty similar to those in the past.

Lehman said a single ticket, which includes the dinner and a one-year's membership to Ducks Unlimited, is $45 and a couples' ticket is $70. Tickets will be sold at the door.

They are expecting around 140 people at this year's event.

"It is a fun, community event," Lehman said. "There are a lot of folks that show up there who know each other and it is a pretty good time. It is a good opportunity to win some nice prizes, some nice prints; we have some Yeti coolers there, a few variety of various fire arms, if you are interested in those.

"It is a good dinner and it is for a great cause."
