The track at California High School will be the source of a colorful explosion in an effort to raise funds for the high school band's trip to San Antonio.
A Color Run/Walk 5K will take place May 4, with check-in starting at 9 a.m.
The event is meant as a unique way to help the band participate in the 2019 Alamo Bowl Game and a marching band competition. The competition will feature bands involved in the bowl game and halftime show.
Participants wishing to help the band can register by Monday to receive a race bib, color packet and a T-shirt.
The cost for early registration is $30 per ticket. Those who will not be able to attend but would like to donate may visit getactivefundraising.com to offer donations of $5, $10, $20 or $50. The site is also the place to register early.
After Monday, the full-price tickets cost $35.
