Prairie Home Co-op expanding

The Prairie Home Co-op, which is now owned by AG Co-op Services Inc. out from Sedalia, is expanding a few of its services. The transition was made Oct. 31.

The site manager out of Prairie Home, Mike Dick, said that the change has been a good thing for the co-op, as they are getting some new equipment.

The co-op is working on expanding their feed facility and, in the future, they will be expanding their fertilizer facility, as well.

Dick said that the current services are the same and that services that the co-op does not do will be done by the site in Boonville.

"Basically, we are doing a slight moving around of a few of the things that we used to do, but basically we are still doing them," Dick said. "But, some things will be done out of Boonville and some things we will do here."

Dick said that the co-op is working to improve and to get the products out at a lower price and offer more services in the future.

"It is going to take a little bit, to get everything done. It can't be done overnight, unfortunately. But we are working on it," Dick said.
