Jamestown wastewater treatment plant nears completion

As Jamestown's wastewater treatment plant project nears a completion date of July 31, officials with engineering company Bartlett & West updated the city's Board of Aldermen on a list of action items for construction contractors at the board's July 1 meeting.

Engineer Gary Davis said residents will see some action around the plant site approximately a quarter-mile south of Missouri 179 and School Street intersection.

"The week of July 8, they will see crews back in town doing cleanup and demobilization of equipment," Davis said. Fencing around the treatment plant will also be added.

Final completion, including grass seeding, cleaning and restoration, is expected this fall, he said.

As the project inches toward it final stages, the risk of going over budget decreases.

"The project is still under budget," Davis said.

The project includes a standard one-year warranty. Bartlett & West will check in around 11 months after construction is complete to make sure everything is operating properly.
