Moniteau County Fair Scholarship Contest candidates announced

The candidates for the 2019 Moniteau County Fair Scholarship Contest are:

Morgan Hineman

She is the daughter of John and Patty Hineman, of Tipton.

She is a 2019 graduate of Tipton High School. During high school, she was involved in DECA, FBLA, FCCLA and FFA. Morgan was involved in cheerleading all four years of high school for basketball and football and was captain her junior and senior year.

In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dogs and spending time with family and friends. She enjoys reading and writing and loves going to concerts and float trips with her friends.

Morgan participated and placed in the Patriots Pin essay contest. She is a member of the First Baptist Church in Tipton, where she sings.

She is currently employed at State Farm Insurance in California and volunteers at Rock Island Assisted Living.

Morgan is currently enrolled at State Fair Community College pursuing an associates of arts degree in psychology with the intent of transferring and pursuing a master's of psychology at the the University of Missouri.

Alyssa Sabartinelli

She is the daughter of Krystal Davis and Aaron and Thea Sabartinelli, of California.

She is entering her senior year at California High School. Some of her activities while in school include serving as president of the freshman class, serving on student council for three years and a member of California High School National Honor Society. She enjoys music and has participated in Sounds of Joy each year and will be the soprano section leader for the 2019-20 school year.

She has attended state music contest two times and district choir all three years. She attended Central Methodist Music Camp this summer under the direction of Professor Westfall. She has been a member of the CHS Cheer Squad the last three years and will serve as the cheer captain this year.

She was selected as an All-American cheerleader two years in a row and attended the 2019 Thanksgiving Day parade in Philadelphia, and will be participating in the Thanksgiving Day Parade at Disneyland in Orlando this November.

Alyssa was the sophomore homecoming candidate in 2017. She has been employed as a lifeguard at the City of California swimming pool and also as a daycare attendant at California Kids LLC. She is a member of the United Church of Christ of California.

Upon completion of high school, Alyssa plans to attend Central Methodist University to major in psychology and minor in biology.

She plans to participate in both choir and cheerleading while working on campus as a lifeguard.

After obtaining a bachelor's degree, Alyssa plans to attend the University of Missouri School of Medicine to become a doctor of medicine specializing in mental health to practice as a psychiatrist.

Arabella Hay

She is the daughter of Steve Hay and William and Victoria Apperson, of California.

She will be entering her junior year at Russellville High School to graduate in 2021. Arabella is on the honor roll in school and involved in the chess club, of which she is vice president. Arabella is in band, where she plays violin. She enjoys reading, writing, painting and playing the violin. She also plays violin at her church at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

She also plays the piano, guitar and saxophone.

She loves to travel and hopes to someday visit the United Kingdom, France and Italy. She is employed at Burgher Haus.

She's been coming to the Moniteau County Fair since the age of 3 and has always dreamed of being in this contest.

Arabella's ambition is to attend Lincoln University and study psychology and criminal justice to become a criminal profiler.
