Moniteau County deputy injured in accident during traffic stop

A Moniteau County deputy was injured in an accident Thursday night in Morgan County.

Deputy Jason Partin, 45, of California, was conducting a traffic stop around 8:15 p.m. on Missouri 5 near Short Road when Partin and his vehicle were struck by a passing car driven by Norman Devore, 85, of Iberia, according to Missouri Highway Patrol reports and information from Moniteu County Sheriff's Department authorities.

The impact of the collision caused Partin's vehicle to strike the vehicle he had pulled over.

Partin and a passenger in the passing car that struck the deputy, Carolyn Devore, 80, of Iberia, were treated for moderate injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that was pulled over was not injured.
