California man arrested in Mid-Mo drug bust

Deputies received information Tuesday of a suspicious package possibly containing drugs that was going to be delivered to a residence in California, according to Moniteau County Sheriff's Department reports.

The sheriff's office contacted the U.S. Postal Inspectors Office to assist with the investigation. The package was tracked and intercepted as it arrived at the California Post Office. K-9 Mizzou was then deployed on several packages and gave a positive alert to the presence of drugs on one package.

Deputies did a controlled delivery of the package to a residence on Meadow Lane in California, executing a search warrant on the residence and taking Zachariah Salazar, 37, of California, into custody.

Deputies reportedly located approximately 1,180 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, digital scales, packaging materials and derivatives of concentrated THC known as "Dabs."
