A Sedalia woman was taken into custody Sept. 7 after a traffic stop led to the discovery of marijuana and methamphetamine.
Deputies with the Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop in Tipton for a moving violation where they identified the driver as Heather J. Canady, 33, of Sedalia. After explaining the reason for the stop, deputies noticed Canady acting rather nervously. A consent to search the vehicle was requested and granted, which is when deputies found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Upon a search of her person, methamphetamine was located.
Canady was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the Moniteau County Jail, where she was released on her own recognizance.
