To kick off Wednesday's legislative veto session, state Rep. Sara Walsh, R-Ashland, was officially sworn into the Missouri Legislature.

"It's a huge honor and privilege to serve the 50th District," Walsh told the News Tribune. "Now that everything is official, I will have time to sit down and talk through some of the issues my constituents addressed when I was going door to door."

Walsh said she plans to be a full-time legislator. She succeeds former Rep. Caleb Jones, a Republican, who resigned in January to join Gov. Eric Greitens' staff.
