Missouri man drowns at Lake of the Ozarks

A Missouri man drowned Wednesday after he fell from a fishing boat at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Ronald J. Miller, 78, of Fenton, was an occupant in a 2001 Skeeter bass boat when he fell into the water and was unable to stay afloat, according to a Missouri Highway Patrol report.

At the time of the 3 p.m. mishap, the boat driven by Larry D. Schafer, 78, of Lebanon, was stationary at the 30.8-mile marker on the main channel of the lake.

Miller's body was transported to Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton.
