California High School Spring Play Season Begins

Play auditions for the spring play Deadly Earnest were held on Wednesday, Dec. 15 in the Performing Arts Center.

A list of roles was posted outside of director Tiffany Brown's classroom on Friday, Dec. 17.

Meleigha Caudel, TyleRe Goans, Sam Gerhart, Kaitlyn Allison, Rebecca Suen, Ashlee Davis, Haley McMillian, Echo High, Alex Davis, Mitchell Cox, Dylan Ramey, Eligio Banda, Jordan Brizendine and Tyler Silvey all received roles in the play.

"Everyone who came out did a good job. I'm sad that we couldn't have a bigger cast, because we really have a lot of talented actors at this school," said Ashlee Davis, who got the role of "Aunt Stella' in the play.

The cast began rehearsing on Friday at 5:30 in Ms. Brown's room.

"The first play rehearsal definitely confirmed my belief that the right people got the right parts," said Brown. "This should be a hilarious season, resulting in a hilarious show."

Though some students may not have gotten roles, there are still many opportunities for those who wish to be involved with the spring play.

The show is a comedy about a man who loses everything and hires a hit man to finish him off. But later he gains it all back and decides he doesn't want to die. The only problem: he doesn't know who is after him.

Tickets will go on sale soon.
