Stealing charges have been filed against two people alleged to have been working together in the theft of property.
Roy R. Dodson, 33, has been charged with Class C Felony stealing in connection with several thefts.
Donald A. Mitchell, 36, has been charged with a class A misdemeanor charge of stealing.
According to court documents, the two were allegedly discovered an apprehended by officers of the City of California Police Department at a California business on Monday, Oct., 25, loading metal tubing in a pickup. The tubing was valued at less than $500.
Mitchell has been charged with a misdemeanor in connection with that incident. If Mitchell is convicted on the misdemeanor theft charge, he could face up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. Bond has been set at $10,000.
Dodson has been charged with two Class C Felonies in connection with two other incidents of theft. He was charged with Count I, Felony Stealing, for the alleged theft, on or about Oct. 2, of four 1935 John Deere tractor wheels, valued at more than $500. The wheels were allegedly taken from the same business from which the two were apprehended, but were the property of a third party.
The charge of Count II, Felony Stealing, was in connection with the theft of grader blades, valued at more than $500, from Moniteau County on an unknown date, believed to have been in October.
If convicted on these charges, Dodson could face up to seven years in prison and $5,000 on each count. Bond has been set at $15,000.
