Historic Homes Tour 2010 set

Dolores Burger, chairperson for Historic Home Tour 2010, announces that tickets are on sale during the month of November at the Democrat Office, Beauty Bar, The Flower Shop, Patricia Kay Interiors, all California banks, and the chamber office.

Advanced tickets purchased before Nov. 30 are $8 for adults (13 years and older) and $5 for children (12 years and younger). After Nov. 30, tickets will sell for $10 and $5 respectively. The tour is a part of Christmas California Style sponsored by the California Area Chamber of Commerce on Dec. 4 and 5. The tour homes will be opened on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m.

The three historic California homes, all built during the last half of the 1800's are the Nischwitz/Shore Home, 109 North Oak Street, Robert and Pam Buda owners; the Peck Home, 706 East Smith Street, Dr. James and Amanda Canter owners; and the Embry home, 302 East North Street, Steve and Mary Ann Wasser owners. The Finke Theatre built in 1885 is also on the tour.

More information about Christmas California Style which will include "Shop California" (business open houses and discounts), the house lighting/decorating contest, lighted Christmas parade and Santa Claus will follow in subsequent issues of the Democrat.
