WIC Services offered by Moniteau County Health Center

The Moniteau County Health Center has announced that a contract to continue to provide WIC (Women's Infant Children) services for federal fiscal year 2011 has been signed with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. Under the terms of the contract, the Moniteau County Health Center will be able to serve 390 persons eligible for WIC every month.

The WIC program provides, at no cost, specific nutritious supplemental foods, nutrition education and referrals for pregnant women, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants, and children up to five years old. To qualify for this program applicants must meet income guidelines and be determined by a health professional to have a nutritional risk. The WIC program improves the health status of a vulnerable population during a critical growth period.
