Calfiornia High School Juniors to Host "A Night in Paris"

California High School's Prom is scheduled for Saturday, April 9, from 7 to 11 p.m. at Braykley's Hall, Centertown. All guests must be in the door by 8:30 p.m. The theme for this year's Prom is "A Night in Paris."

Prom attendees usually gather for pictures at the park or other various locations with their dates and friends and eat dinner at a nice restaurant.

Freshman Morgan Bestgen says, "I am looking forward to prom. I think it is going to be a lot of fun."

A new addition to local prom activities this year is the After Prom Party scheduled at the United Church of Christ. Organized by several junior class parents, the party will include special refreshments, games of all kinds and an outdoor patio with fire pits where students can simply hang out. A big breakfast will be served at 3 a.m., and over 50 contest and door prizes will be given away during the party, which ends at 3:30 a.m.

Junior class sponsor Ashley Atteberry stated, "The After Prom Party is a great alternative to keep students out of trouble after prom has ended."

Students are also allowed to bring out-of-school guests to prom as long as they complete the approval form, which includes a recommendation by the guest's principal or a CHS teacher who knows the guest.
