Cattlemen hear update on Beef Checkoff

At the regular monthly meeting of the Moniteau County Cattlemen's Association on Tuesday, March 22, members were updated on the use of the Beef Checkoff funds.

Missouri Beef Industry Council Executive Director John Kleiboeker informed the cattlemen of the use and value of the Beef Checkoff Dollar.

The National Beef Checkoff, approved in 1988, collects one dollar for each head of beef sold to provide funds for promotion, research and information dissemination. A major part of the Beef Checkoff is to promote the demand for beef in the United States and foreign markets.
