Enhanced Enterprise Zone discussed by Moniteau County Regional Economic Develpment Council

The possibility of an Enhanced Enterprize Zone (EEZ) was discussed at the regular monthly meeting of the Moniteau County Regional Economic Development Council (MRED) Board of Directors on Wednesday, April 13. The meeting was at Burgher Haus in California.

According to Executive Director Ken Parrett, Moniteau County can now qualify for an EEZ because of the declaration of a disaster because of the 18.5 inch snowfall in February.

The disaster declaration opened one of the loopholes in the program. With the exception of a small part, the county can be considered for the program.

The disaster declaration allows the Low-Middle Income (LMI) level to be removed from the factors considered. Since that was one of the items preventing qualification, the EEZ should go through.
