To the many present, the choir of California St. Paul's Lutheran Church performed the music of "The Living Last Words" Cantata on Good Friday accompanied by the portrayal in speech and costumes of various Biblical personalities important in the events surrounding the Crucifixion of Christ.

The cantata, written by Ruth Elaine Schram, is developed around the last words of the Savior as recorded in the Scriptures.

The event began with a brief sermon "The Great Friday" by Dr. Peter Kurowski, St. Paul's pastor. He based his homily on the text "The Seven Words of Christ" which were featured on a banner made by Twilla Duvall.
