Upcoming Road Work for Mid-Missouri April 27 - May 6

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for April 27 - May 6, 2011. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected.

Benton County

Daylight Hours

Route 65 from south of Route 52 to just north of the Osage River in Warsaw - Widening highway to four lanes continues. The contractor continues working on grading, culverts and pipe work, and roadway construction. Traffic on existing Route 65 is not affected.

The project is scheduled to be complete in summer 2012.

Route P between Route E and Route ZZ - Roadway patching and repair continues through Friday, April 29. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Boone County

Daylight Hours

Sorrels Overpass over Interstate 70, west of Columbia - Bridge deck repair will take place on Tuesday, May 3. The bridge will be closed to traffic during the work. Motorists should seek alternate routes around the work.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Interstate 70 Northeast Outer Road bridge over Little Cedar Creek, one mile east of Route Z - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until early June. Motorists should seek alternate routes around the work. This is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Overnight Hours

Interstate 70 between the Missouri River Bridge and Route BB - Crews will place concrete barriers on the eastbound shoulders on Wednesday, April 27 to excavate and repair a portion of roadside fill to prevent the soil from sliding and damaging the pavement. One eastbound lane will be open to traffic during the work. The ramp to Route BB will be narrowed during the work. After the concrete barriers are in place, both eastbound lanes will be open to traffic and crews will work on the shoulder.

Callaway County

Daylight Hours

Route A, five miles north of Interstate 70 - Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Thursday, April 28. The route will close to traffic at 7:30 a.m. for approximately five hours. Motorists should seek alternate routes around the work area.

Route A, 1.5 miles north of Route B - Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Friday, April 29. The route will close to traffic at 7:30 a.m. for approximately five hours. Motorists should seek alternate routes around the work area.

Route C, one-half mile south of Hams Prairie - Roadway maintenance will take place on Wednesday, May 4. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route BB between Route 54 and Route AA - Partial surface overlay will take place Monday, May 2 through Friday, May 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route MM between Route J and County Road 389 - Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life. The operation continues through Friday, April 29. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Drivers should lower their speeds through the area. Motorists should expect delays.

Route UU bridge over Crows Fork Creek, east of County Road 101 - Bridge maintenance and repair will take place Thursday, April 28 and Monday, May 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route VV, two miles east of Route C - Roadway maintenance will take place on Tuesday, May 3. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 63 near over Cedar Creek, 1.5 miles south of the Boone/Callaway County line -Bridge deck replacement and upgrading guard rail in the northbound lanes.

  • The northbound bridge is closed traffic during until late May. During this time, northbound traffic will be redirected onto one southbound lane for approximately ? mile.

  • Bridge painting will take place after the bridge reopens, but some lane closures may still be needed to finish that work.

This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Camden County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 in Linn Creek at the intersections of Route V and Business Park Road/East Valley Drive - Median turn lane construction and intersection improvements. Grading and drainage work continues for the new Business Park Road and East Valley Drive widening.

  • One lane in each direction will be closed periodically in the work area for the next few weeks as crews grade near offset turn lanes. Motorists should expect delays.

This project is scheduled for completion in late spring 2011.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 54 between the Grand Glaize Bridge to west of Route KK in Osage Beach - Grading, drainage work, paving and bridges for the new Route 54 Expressway.

  • Traffic on Laguna Beach Road is being re-routed on the service road where they will access the new Case Road Interchange.

  • Grading continues from Laguna Beach Road to the Grand Glaize Bridge.

  • The contractor is placing rock base on the new Route 54 Expressway from Route KK to the west end of the project.

  • The contractor is building the new Route KK bridge while traffic is using existing Route KK.

  • Work continues on the new Nichols Road. Minor traffic delays can be expected as construction equipment accesses these areas.

  • Key Largo Road traffic will be moved this week to their new location west of where they currently access existing Route 54.

This portion of the project is scheduled for completion in summer 2011.

Route W bridge over Watson Creek, approximately 3.5 miles west of Route 54 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is located 3.5 miles west of U.S. 54. The bridge is closed to traffic through late May. Motorists should seek alternate routes around the work area. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Camden and Miller Counties

Daylight Hours

Route 242/Horseshoe Bend Parkway between Lake Ozark Community Bridge and

Route 54 - Grading and paving for a new four-lane highway.

  • The contractor is excavating and placing material on the western end of the project near the Community Bridge.

  • Drainage pipe is being placed near the west end of the project and construction is underway on a box culvert farther east in the work area. No traffic delays expected at this time.

This project is scheduled for completion in late winter 2011.

Cole County

Daylight Hours

Route 50/63 between Militia Drive and City View Drive - Roadway maintenance and repair will take place Tuesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 4 in the westbound lanes. One westbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Route 179 between Route N and the Jefferson City limits - Roadway resurfacing will take place Monday, May 2 through Friday, May 13. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route C bridge over Moreau River, 3.5 miles east of Route D - Bridge maintenance will take place on Monday, May 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route T from just north of Route 50 to Route 179 - Partial surface overlay continues through Friday, April 29. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Cooper County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route V bridge over the Petite Saline Creek, approximately two miles south of Route 179 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until late April. Motorists should find alternate routes around the work area. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Gasconade County

Daylight Hours

Route 100 between Route J and Route N - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, April 27 through Friday, April 29. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 100 between Route 19 and Route N - Partial surface overlay will take place Monday, May 2 through Friday, May 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route B, 4.5 miles south of Route 28 - Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Thursday, April 28. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Maries County

Daylight Hours

Route 42 between Route 63 and Route 133 - Partial surface overlay continues through Thursday, May 5. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Miller County

Daylight Hours

Route 52 bridge over South Fork Moreau Creek, 1 mile east of the Morgan County line - Bridge maintenance will take place on Wednesday, May 4. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Moniteau County

Daylight Hours

Route 179 bridge over Moniteau Creek, 1.5 miles south of Sandy Hook - Bridge maintenance continues through Thursday, April 28. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route MM between Route F and end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance and repair continues through Friday, April 29. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route E bridge over Dry Fork, one mile south of Route 50 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until mid-May. Motorists should seek alternate routes. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Morgan County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 from two miles west of Route D to the Pettis County line - Roadway maintenance continues through Friday, April 29. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Osage County

Daylight Hours

Route 133 bridge over Sugar Creek at Route B - Bridge maintenance and repair continues through Wednesday, April 27. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route K between Route 89 and end of state maintenance - Roadway patching and repair will take place Thursday, May 5 and Friday, May 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through each work area.

Route Z between Route 100 and end of state maintenance - Roadway patching and repair continues through Friday, April 29. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through each work area.

Route FF between Route 89 and end of state maintenance - Roadway patching and repair will take place Monday, May 2 through Wednesday, May 4. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Pettis County

Daylight Hours

Route 65 between Route 52 and Sedalia city limits - Concrete replacement continues in the northbound and southbound lanes through Friday, May 6. One lane in each direction will be open to traffic through the work area.

Route 65 bridge over Turkey Creek, north of Smelser Road

Route 65 bridge over Muddy Creek, north of John Road - Bridge maintenance and repair in the northbound lanes will take place Wednesday, May 4. One northbound lane will be open through each work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route V bridge over Spring Fork Creek, east of Route 65 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until early May. Motorists are being detoured around the work area on U.S. 65, Route 52 and Route U. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Route HH bridge over Cedar Creek, four miles east of Route 65 - Bridge replacement is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 2. The bridge will be closed to traffic until mid-June. Motorists will be detoured around the work area on U.S. 65, Route 50 and Route O. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Pettis, Morgan and Moniteau Counties

Daylight Hours

Route 50 from east of Sedalia city limits to Tipton city limits - Roadway resurfacing on driving lanes and shoulders continues through early fall of 2011. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
