The California High School volleyball players started daily practices last week to prepare for the 2011 season. "We have six seniors, which is the most we've had since I've been coaching here at California, so I'm excited about that," Head Coach Ashley Atteberry said. "Because of the number of players, which is 27, we're not going to have a strict freshman team. We will have a JV-A team and a JV-B team." Coached by Atteberry and Tammy Scheidt, the Lady Pintos will see their first action of the season via home matches against Eugene Tuesday, Aug. 30, beginning at 6 p.m.
