California D.R.E.A.M. Initiative to Start Local Phone Survey

August 24th, 2011 by Democrat Staff in News

A telephone survey will be starting Aug. 25, as part of the ongoing information gathering process for the downtown Revitalization and Economic Assistance for Missouri (D.R.E.A.M.) Initiative. The process involves contacting random residents of the California community by telephone to assess perceptions of the downtown area. PGAV Planners, the consultant for the D.R.E.A.M. initiative, has subcontracted with UNICOM - ARC to conduct the survey.

"It is extremely valuable input and the survey is anonymous," California Mayor Norris Gerhart said. "The results allow us to determine community issues. If called, we would really appreciate everyone's assistance."

Patrick Hanlon, from PGAV Planners, added they respect peoples' time but the surveys are, "an easy way for the residents to get involved and contribute their ideas for downtown."

The D.R.E.A.M. Initiative is designed to help small and mid-sized Missouri communities gain better access to existing State assistance and programs to help with downtown revitalization and job creation efforts. The D.R.E.A.M. Initiative assists municipalities to more efficiently and effectively engage in downtown redevelopment and revitalization, as well as attract new private investment into the heart of communities.
