GED Classes to Begin at Wood Place Public Library

GED classes will begin on Monday, Aug. 29, on the second floor of the Wood Place Library in California. GED classes are held every Monday and Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m. The classes are provided by Jefferson City Public Schools Adult Education and are taught by Julie Wingate. This year only new students will be accepted on certain orientation nights each month. In August, the orientation nights are Monday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 31. Orientation nights for September are Monday, Sept.12, and Monday, Sept. 19. New students are welcome those nights and encouraged to be there at 5:30 p.m. The classes are free. The students do not need to bring any supplies with them. They may bring their own paper and folder if they choose. The students need to plan on staying three hours the first night, and may not bring anyone with them to class unless he or she is also enrolling in GED class. We also offer a free GED online study program if a student is self motivated and would benefit from studying online at home in additon to coming to class. If students desire further information they may call the library, the Adult Education Office in Jefferson City at (573)659-3122, or contact the teacher directly at (573)694-0193.
